Part three.

Time to move on again, unfortunately we have to start unwinding this one. Returning the way we came was possible if we wanted to extend our trip, the flights between Rapa Nui and Tahiti only happen on Tuesdays. However, continuing on to Santiago Chile gave us daily options, and having never been to South America proper how could we resist.

It has been interesting being in the South Pacific, we were in another disconnected world. Quiet. In Bora Bora I only saw one airplane in flight while at the hotel on the day we left. Rapa Nui was this x100. Arriving in Santiago was a (minor) shock, very rural to max urban in 4 hours. However, to Syd’s happiness, the internet is faster.

Arrived late, 9 pm in time for a drink at Route 66, a bar that is themed in a familiar way. Close to the hotel and open, it will do. Tis Saturday night, enjoy.

More tomorrow.

Goodbye Rapa Nui and thank you.

Santiago
